Quotation rights

Austen’s Owl uses brief, attributed literary excerpts. Some source texts are in the public domain; other excerpts remain copyrighted and are used after an internal editorial review of the four U.S. fair-use factors. That review is not a license or court ruling.

Authors, publishers, and other rights holders may email support@karentuckerhelps.com with the quotation, source work, and requested action. We promptly review credible requests and, as our default, remove the disputed quotation from future distribution in the next available app update while the matter is reviewed. Because the catalog is stored on-device, existing installations and previously exported images cannot be recalled remotely.

Privacy

Austen’s Owl is designed to be a private reading ritual. You do not need to create an account or sign in to use it.

Saved Favorites and Recent Pages are kept on your device. The app does not send them to a server.

If you choose Reader’s Edition, Apple securely processes your purchase. The app checks your purchase status to unlock its paid features. Austen’s Owl does not receive or store your payment information.

The app does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking. When you choose to share a quotation, iOS opens its system share sheet. What happens after you choose a recipient or service is governed by that service’s privacy practices.

If you email support, we receive your email address and message through our email service so we can respond. Support correspondence may be retained after we answer your request. To ask us to delete that correspondence, email the support address above with “Delete support correspondence” in the subject.

We will update this policy before adding any feature that changes how the app handles data, including account or cloud services.
